In the battle for the French city of Ville Bocage on June 13, 1944, Michael Wittmann in a few minutes on his “Tiger” tank led a detachment of five other tanks defeated the avant-garde of the British 7th Armored Division. During these 20 minutes, Michael Wittmann destroyed 21 tanks Cromwell, Sherman and Firefly, and 28 units of other armored vehicles (14 semi-track armored vehicles and 14 self-propelled Bren units) of the 4th regiment of the County of London Yeomanry (“Sharpshooters”) from the 22nd armored brigade Of the 7th Armored Division of the British.
