Alexander Gagiev

The commander of the 1st Guards Mine-Torpedo Air Regiment of the 8th Mine-Torpedo Air Division of the Baltic Fleet Air Force, Lieutenant Alexander Gagiev, against his Boston A-20G-45-DO No. 30.

Five days before this photo, Alexander Gagiev with his navigator Demidov drowned an enemy sea transport of a displacement of 4,000 tons, and Sokolov shot down an enemy fighter. The day before the photo, the crew of Gagiyev drowned an enemy sea transport with a displacement of 6,000 tons.

Gagiev Alexander Maksimovich – participant of the Great Patriotic War from May 1944. By October 1944, Guards Lieutenant Gagiev made 28 sorties, in which he sank 4 sea transport and 1 submarine of the enemy. In March 1945, for exemplary fulfillment of command tasks and demonstrated courage and heroism in the battles with the German fascist invaders, Lieutenant Alexander Gagiev will be awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
