The bunker of the Czech fortress line in the Sudetes (“Line of Benes”).
After the Munich agreement of 1938, signed by Britain, France, Germany and Italy as part of the policy of “pacification of Germany”, the Sudetenland was occupied by the Nazis and the fortifications of the “Benes” line were there, without resistance, captured by the Germans. On the eve of the invasion of the German army in France, Belgium and Holland, the German paratroopers were trained on the fortifications of the former “Benes Line”, who then distinguished themselves in the capture of the Belgian fort Eben-Emael.
