The battleship California

The American “California” battleship, which sank in Pearl Harbor as a result of hits of two torpedoes and a 250-kg aerial bomb from Japanese aircraft on December 7, 1941.
Because of the shallow depth of the bay, the deck of the battleship remained above the water, people were landed on it to inspect the ship and prepare for its rise.

The California battleship was raised on March 25, 1942 and put into dry dock for repair. On June 7, 1942, the ship came under its own power to the Puget Sound Navy Yard naval shipyard, where it was radically upgraded to practically the level of the latest American battleships. “California” was in service until the end of the Second World War.
