Pogoreloe Gorodische is an ancient Russian town in the Kalininskaya (now Tver) region, based on the site of a 13th-century fortress. The town fell into the German occupation in October 1941. He was liberated by Soviet troops on August 4, 1942, during the Pogoreloe Gorodische offensive operation, which was part of the Rzhev-Sychevsky operation.
