He fought since 1943 in the 513rd fighter regiment of the 331st Fighter Air Division of the 5th Assault Air Corps of the 1st and 2nd Ukrainian Fronts as a senior pilot. Soviet pilot Nikolai Ivanovich Dynich shot down one Luftwaffe plane.
