The squadron commander of the 118th separate reconnaissance and correctional aviation regiment (2nd air army, 1st Ukrainian front) Abrek Barsht by April 1945 made 365 successful combat sorties, personally shot down 4 enemy aircraft in air battles. April 10, 1945 he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
