Prisoners of the Red Army in a clay quarry brick factory, the Nazi concentration camp, known as “Umanskaya pit.”
In the gigantic camp under the open sky there were Red Army soldiers who were surrounded and captured near Uman, waiting to be sent to concentration camps in Poland and Germany.
There were no structures on the territory of the quarry, Russian prisoners of war were kept on bare ground, information about the exact number of people passing through the camp and registration of the dead are not available.
