Alexander Kotov

Soviet pilot Lieutenant Alexander Kotov from the 434th Fighter Regiment of the Red Army Air Force in the cockpit of the Yak-7B fighter.
Kotov Alexander Grigorievich was born in 1918. In the Red Army since 1938. Member of the Great Patriotic War from June 1941. By mid-January 1943, Guard Senior Lieutenant Kotov made 250 sorties, in 88 air battles shot down 16 enemy aircraft.
In February 1943, Alexander Kotov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 813).

Since August 1943, Alexander Kotov was sacked because of a wound in air battle.
