The Elbe Day, US Army Private Byron Shiver and soldiers of the Red Army, Ivan Numladze. Private of G-company of the 273rd Infantry Regiment Byron Shiver was a member of the patrol (under the command of Lieutenant Alfred Buck Kotzebue), who met with Soviet soldiers and officers on the Elbe River.
