Japanese pilot Ass, the Major Teruhiko Kobayashi is commander of the 244th September near his fighter. Commander of the Order “Bukose” for success in the defense of the metropolis.
The 244th Sentai (Squadron) specialized in the fight against American B-29 bombers. This is the most famous centai in the Japanese air defense system. Officially, five air victories were recognized as Major Kobayashi (three B-29s and two F6Fs). But other data speaks of 12 and even 20 victories, of which 16 were B-29 (two of them were destroyed by the ram).
