Batov Pavel Ivanovich was born in 1897, in the military service since 1915. Participant of the 1-st World War (since 1916). Participant of the Civil War in Russia, the Civil War in Spain in 1936-1939, the Winter War of 1939-40. From the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, Pavel Batov – commander of the 9th Rifle Corps.
Pavel Batov is twice Hero of the Soviet Union.
