“Blue Line” – a line of German fortifications on the Taman peninsula. Availability 400,000th military groups and shortened front line allowed the Germans to create here a very tight defense. The fighting here lasted from February to September 1943, while the last German troops were evacuated to the Crimea. For the liberation of the Taman Peninsula 2 Guards Infantry Division 9 October 1943 he received the honorary title of “Taman”.
