Colonel Alexei Ignatievich Negoda (1909–1975) – the commander of the 171st Idritskaya Red Banner Infantry Division of the 3rd Shock Army of the 1st Belorussian Front, which in April 1945 broke through the strongly fortified enemy defenses on the west bank of the Oder River, broke into Berlin April 30, 1945 began the storming of the Reichstag building together with other units of the Red Army. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 29, 1945, for the skilful leadership of the division, exemplary performance of command missions and courage and heroism shown in battles with the German fascist invaders, Colonel Negoda Alexei Ignatievich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union awarding the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal “(№6733).

Alexei Negoda was also awarded the Order of Lenin, two Orders of the Red Banner, the Order of Kutuzov, 2nd degree, the Red Star, medals “For Courage”, “For Military Merit”, “For the Liberation of Warsaw”, “For the Capture of Berlin” and others; Polish awards – Order of Virtuti Military and the medal “For Warsaw.”
