The German U-33 submarine (U-boot 33) from the Kriegsmarine in the sea during Second World War in Europe.

U-33 submarine is a medium-sized German Type VIIA submarine from World War II. The order for construction was given on March 25, 1935. It construction began at the shipyard of the “Germaniawerft” shipbuilding company in the city of Kiel, Germany, on September 1, 1935 under serial number 556.
U-boot 33 was launched on June 11, 1936. On July 25, 1936, it was put into service and, under the command of Ottoheinrich Junker, became part of the 2nd Salzwedel Flotilla of the Kriegsmarine.
