During the war, MV Wilhelm Gustloff was not long a hospital ship, then became a floating barracks for the school of submariners.
MV Wilhelm Gustloff was assigned to the German Navy, carrying on board weapons to combat air and surface targets.
The ship Wilhelm Gustloff is famous as an object of attack of the Soviet submarine S-13 under the command of Alexander Marinesko on January 30, 1945. MV Wilhelm Gustloff sank, according to maximum estimates, 9985 people died.
