General Rokossovsky (later Marshal) Konstantin Konstantinovich and other Soviet officers of the Red Army Forces inspect the destroyed German “Elephant” tank destroyer. Eastern Front, Second World War.
Konstantin (Ksaverevich) Rokossovsky (Polish: Konstanty Rokossowski; 9 [21] in December 1896, Warsaw, Polish Kingdom, the Russian Empire – August 3, 1968, Moscow, USSR.) the Soviet and Polish military commander, twice Hero of Soviet Union (1944, 1945) . Unique in the history of the USSR Marshal of the two countries: Marshal of the Soviet Union (1944) and Marshal of Poland (1949). General Rokossovsky commanded the Victory Parade on June 24, 1945 in Moscow on Red Square. He is one of the greatest generals of World War II.
