Yakov Antonov (1908-1942) – fighter pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union (1940). Born January 24, 1908 in the village of Malakhovo Novgorod region.
Yakov Antonov Member of the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940, for which March 21, 1940 he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
During World War II Yakov Antonov served as commander of the 84th “A” fighter regiment. August 25, 1942, Yakov Antonov was shot down over the Mozdok by plane I-153 and, as the Soviet documents, was killed.
