Explosions of deep-seated bombs

View from the deck of the US Coast Guard ship “Spencer” (USS Spencer) to the explosions of depth charges dropped in order to sink the German U-175 submarine.
After these explosions, the submarine surfaced, becoming an easy target of ship artillery. After heavy damage from the shells of the guns “Spencer” U-175 sank.

In the background – the convoy ships HX-233, which was accompanied by “Spencer”.
