The evacuation a American sailor the wounded member of the crew of the Bunker Hill aircraft carrier (CV-17) to the light cruiser Wilkes Barre (CL-103).
The aircraft carrier Bunker Hill suffered heavy injuries as a result of an attack by two Japanese kamikazes on Zero fighters to the flight deck on May 11, 1945 near the coast of Okinawa, 346 American sailors were killed, 43 were missing, 264 were injured.
