Hood battlecruiser

English battlecruiser “Hood” at anchorage.
HMS Hood – battlecruiser of the British fleet. Named after Samuel Hood, the English admiral of the 18th and 19th centuries.

During the construction of “Hood” it was planned to take into account the experience of the Jutland battle, as a result of which the Royal Navy of Great Britain lost three battlecruisers. Despite all the improvements, the ship died on May 24, 1941 in a battle against the German battleship “Bismarck”.
