Hood battlecruiser

English “Hood” battlecruiser at anchorage.
HMS Hood is battlecruiser of the British Royal Navy. Named after Samuel Hood, the English admiral of the 18th and 19th centuries.

During the construction of Hood cruiser it was planned to take into account the experience of the Jutland battle, as a result of which the Royal Navy of Great Britain lost three battlecruisers. Despite all the improvements, the ship died on May 24, 1941 in a battle against the German battleship “Bismarck”.
