English short-range amphibian aircraft Short Sunderland is a naval reconnaissance and bomber flying boat.
The full-time crew of the Sunderland Mk.I (S.25) consisted of seven people – two pilots, navigator, radio operator, flight engineer, bombardier (who also serves the nasal turret) and a gunner of the tail turret. Short Sunderland was one of the most serious opponents of the submarines of the Nazi Kriegsmarine.
