German soldiers are posing on the armor of the destroyed English tank “Churchill” in Dieppe. Behind him is another trophy British military equipment. Consequences of the unsuccessful raid on Dieppe on August 19, 1942, which was intended to demonstrate the invincibility of the German defense of La Mans in response to the persistent requests of the USSR to open two fronts against the Nazis in Western Europe.
