Demonstration of the downed German Messerschmitt Bf.109 (Me-109) fighter from 7./JG 53 to the inhabitants of London.
This Bf.109E-4 “white 5” under the control of the German pilot Hans Georg Schulte was shot down and made an emergency landing near the British air base Manston Airfeild on September 16, 1940. Before Schulte was shot down and taken prisoner, he counted 8 British aircraft, including two Hurricanes and two Spitfires.
