14 June 1944 U-290 was attacked by British aircraft Mosquito (from 333 Squadron RAF). The U-290 U-boat was damaged, injured 8 crew members. U-290 submarine combat patrol interrupted and returned to base.
May 5, 1945 U-290 submarine was scuttled by the crew in the naval base in Flensburg.
