The female commander of Soviet anti-aircraft gun Sergeant Zinaida Litvinova. The girl was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree and the medal “For the Defense of Leningrad”.
Zinaida Litvinova served as a “gunner”, then “commander of the gun” from the 8th battery of the 43rd anti-aircraft artillery brigade of the Leningrad Front, which consisted entirely of girls. The positions of the anti-aircraft battery were located near the Tarhovka station on the shore of Lake Razliv.
