Soviet General Ivan Muzichenko (1901-1970) in 1941 commanded the 6th Army. In August 1941, near Uman 6th and the 12th Army of the Southern Front were surrounded. When you try to exit the Nazi environment the Soviet General was wounded and taken prisoner. Until 1945, was in German captivity, April 29, 1945, he was liberated by American army.

From May to December 1945 Soviet General Ivan Muzichenko held in check by the NKVD. December 31, 1945 returned to the Soviet Army. In 1947 he graduated from the higher academic courses at the Military Academy of the General Staff. Retired from October 1947. Soviet General Muzichenko died December 8, 1970 in Moscow.
