Captive Indians

Captive soldiers of India from the garrison of the island of Leros against the background of the German TA-15 destroyer.
Leros Island, located in the Aegean Sea near Greece, was captured by the Nazis from the British Army during Operation Leopard in the period from 12 to 15 November 1943.
The ship in the background is the former Italian destroyer Francesco Crispi, captured by the Germans on September 9, 1943 in Trieste the day after Italy left the Second World War and renamed the TA-15.
