The Pictou corvette was being built in Canada. The construction of the corvette started on July 12, 1940, launched on October 5, 1940, accepted into the Canadian navy on April 29, 1941.

The Pictou Corvette was used in the North Atlantic to escort the Allied convoys of the Allies between Halifax.
Pictou Corvette removed from the Navy of Canada in the summer of 1945.
