PBJ-1D Mitchell

Bomber North American PBJ-1D “Mitchell” of 611 US Naval Squadron on the flight deck of the escort aircraft carrier “Manila Bay” (CVE-61) during transportation to the war zone.

PBJ-1D is the name of the B-25D in service with the fleet or marines. It features a single tail turret. Often equipped with a radar to search for enemy submarines, as in the case with this specimen.
