Nazis from the Wehrmacht inspect the British Spitfire Mk.I fighter of the RAF (Royal Air force) shot down near Dunkirk during the Battle of France during World War II.
Spitfire Mk. I aircraft belonged to 92nd Sqn RAF – aircraft tail number GR-U, serial number N3290.
The Spitfire Mk.I was shot down by a German Bf 110 fighter on 23 May 1940, and the English fighter pilot, flying officer J. Gillies, was captured.
