Battalion Commissar G. Polyakov examines weapons from scouts during the socialist competition, dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the creation of the Red Army. In the hands of the commissar, the submachine gun PPSh-41 (a submachine gun of the design of Shpagin, 1941 model).

The Workers ‘and Peasants’ Red Army was formed on the basis of the Decree of the Council of People’s Commissars on January 15 (28), 1918.
