American tankmen learn to shoot from antiaircraft machine guns for low-flying targets.
Light tanks M3, marked with a white letter “M” – Medium, in military exercises played the role of medium tanks. Such a replacement was made because of the lack of medium tanks in the US Army.
Low-flying targets are bombers A-20.
The photo was taken at a training center located in the Mojave Desert, California, in preparation for the Allies invasion of North Africa.
